Hey, hi, hello.
We are so happy you’re here.
We are still working on some things behind the scenes.
Until then...
Meet Jillian
Jillian’s whole-food plant based journey slowly started out of a love of finding yoga first. It was through yoga and listening to her body, she became stronger and more aware of how different activities, food and movement affected how she felt.
After viewing Forks Over Knives, a documentary where researchers explore the possibility that people changing their diets from animal-based to plant-based can help eliminate or control diseases. Jillian immediately cut out dairy and reduced meat consumption. While continuing to educate herself on the power of plants. And in 2017, switched to a fully plant-based lifestyle! Building new healthy habits has led to more energy, the cystic acne that arose in her 30's cleared up and easily lost weight without even trying.
Over the past few years, she has had numerous friends and family reach out wanting to learn more about a plant-based lifestyle, either on their own, or a doctor's recommendation. She loves to help people get started, share resources and recipe recommendations. This ultimately led to create Deme.
In the spring of 2021 Jillian completed a certificate program in Plant-Based Nutrition from T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies thru eCornell. And she is currently enrolled in the Food Future Institute, an entirely plant-based culinary institution.
Meet Becca
Becca started her career with an interest in health foods and physical activity while studying Tae Kwon Do as a teenager. She developed a passion for great food after studying Nutrition in college and while attending culinary school in NYC. She has cooked in San Francisco, Boston, and New York, learning flavors and cuisines from around the world.
She cooked at Sarma, Alden & Harlow, and Pain D’Avignon. In 2015, she was the chef and co-founder of Whole Heart Provisions - a plant based fast casual restaurant which won “Best Vegetarian Restaurant in Boston” from Boston Magazine and The Improper Bostonian. The vegan and almost entirely gluten free restaurant quickly charmed patrons and critics alike with its fresh take on fast casual, plant-based food.
Becoming a personal chef has combined Becca’s love of cooking and passion for healthy eating in new and exciting ways to reach individual clients and their families.
Most recently, Becca has taken her love for yoga and become a certified Kripalu instructor, teaching yoga for everybody and every BODY virtually.
Meet our muse, Demeter
The Greek goddess of the harvest she presides over grains and the fertility of the earth—hello fruits and vegetables. Although she was most often referred to as the goddess of the harvest, she was also goddess of sacred law and the cycle of life and death. Inspiration much. We’d totally be BFF’s if she were here today.
“Being brave enough to just be unapologetic for who you are‚ that's a goddess.”
— Banks
